Description
This is probably one of my more likely crossovers to happen. I grew up watching the 60’s Speed Racer and was disappointed to hear that he couldn’t make it into Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. Speed fought gangsters, ninjas, and assassins all the time in the anime. If Capcom can make Phoenix Wright a fighter, Tatsunoko can make Speed Racer a fighter! I also thought classic Mega Man needed more attention since he wasn't in the game either.
I was originally going to have this be just Speed Racer and Mega Man, but I realized that this way would be more accurate to the game and it would be the perfect match between brothers!

And also, Megaman and Protoman have a similar sibling dynamic that Speed Racer and Racer X have. I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom drew inspiration from Racer X when they came up with Protoman.
